13.56 MHz offers a speed advantage. The 13.56 MHz is faster and has a wider reading range than the 125 kHz. These factors make 13.56 MHz fit best when long range reading is desired, such as Laundry Chips, security tags and toll booth logs.
125 kHz is superior for many security uses.
The 125 kHz technology reads slightly slower than the 13.56 MHz, and provides a shorter reading range which makes it superior for Casino Applications and other high security uses. The slower speed prevents data collisions while reading from multiple locations and the shorter range discourages interference from other units nearby as well as potential defrauding.
