Functionality and Security

It all started with a simple security request… scan a stack of chips, report back on the data contained inside, and display the results quickly, clearly, and concisely.

Once we fulfilled this first request, we added the ability to save and print a record of these scanned chips... but now it was we who wanted more! If recording a transaction meant updating a database, we would do so with data encryption routines that were completely unique, and by using associated transactions that could be defined by the end-user; thus allowing for multilingual functionality, and complete customer control... all with unparalleled security.

This was achieved through the CX3 CLIENT APPLICATION, an efficient interface capable of reconfiguring itself on the fly to accommodate new chip denominations… that can toggle between displaying full detail (as for a casino cage) and only displaying a total amount (as for a betting circle).

The Client Detail Screen

This screen is what the operator sees. It shows what chips and tags you have currently on the antenna. Broken down by type and denomination to show you the total number of gaming tokens and their associated totals.

Grand Total Bar - Buttons

These transaction recording buttons (currently set to Buy In and Cash Out) can be set through the Master Application Program to record transactions of any type. For example; at a Fill Station, the transactions might be FILL and CREDIT... at a table, the transactions might be WIN or LOSE. These transaction types are completely up to your casino to define as you see fit.

Additionally, this application has been modified to display a screen for tournament mode… a mode developed specifically for tournament play.

But that wasn't enough... now, to report on any possible user-defined transaction conflict, we created a new application called the SURVEILLANCE STUB that would constantly monitor for any transaction conflicts, alerting users by ...screen message, printed report, SMS text, e-Mail... or any combination of these notification methods.

This application also provides a simple interface to insert, modify, or remove transaction types and transaction type conflicts.

To report on each of these potential transactions, we created a full featured report generator simply called the CX3 AUDITOR capable of creating virtually any report desired with just a few simple selections. Additionally, the auditor can provide you with a screen continually showing each defined transaction type and the total amount of money associated with it.

Useable by surveillance, security, and supervisory personnel, all instances of this program are immediately alerted in the event of any transaction conflict so you can proactively respond to the situation. Clicking on the ZOOM button allows you to remotely view any station, at any time, in real time.

Counterfeiting

When an RFID chip is put onto an active antenna powered by Cx3, the signal is read, a unique serial number is extracted, and it is validated against your database. In the event of theft, you can actually flag the missing chips as being "STOLEN" in your database. The window to the right shows an on-screen alert, in addition, the appropriate parties can be alerted via E-mail or SMS text. When would be thieves know they cannot profit from their crime, they no longer have a motive to attempt it.

How do you know which chips were taken??? Process of elimination!

For example, Psycho Pete comes up to cage window 4, sticks a gun in the tellers face, grabs a handful of chips and runs away... since Cx3 tracks the last known location of all scanned chips, we know what chips SHOULD be at casino cage window 4; therefore, any missing chips can assumed to be part of this "transaction"... you then set the missing chips last transaction as "stolen".

When the chips are brought in to be redeemed, security and surveillance will be alerted immediately.

Employee Theft

Employee Theft, a widespread issue that plagues the casino industry. Surveillance cameras and the eye in the sky can only see so much, leaving the casino vulnerable on many different levels. Just implementing RFID technology into your casino isn't enough. You need intuitive software to not only display the validity of a chip, but also to cross check the last known transaction of that chip against your database to see if it conflicts with the transaction being attempted. In the event of employee theft, the last known transactions will conflict, alerting surveillance.

Employee theft could be intentional invalid payouts or actual smuggling, the end result is lost revenue. But with Cx3 Chip Verification Software in action, every transaction clearly displays detailed information that is recorded, and can be used for verification purposes.

The result is an automatic double-check of every transaction processed.

With the proper equipment and training of staff, every chip in your casino will be scanned and processed to verify its validity, as is standard procedure with RFID. Let's say that chip then goes into the pocket of an employee... they give it to an accomplice who in turn attempts to redeem that chip at another cage. Because the chip was last recorded as a CASH OUT, and was never recorded again as part of a BUY IN or FILL transaction, Cx3 will alert surveillance immediately of the infraction. Now, what you do with that alert is up to you. The alert may have occurred due to an invalid payout transaction by an employee who failed to follow procedure, or it could be employee theft, in which case the tracking information becomes invaluable.

Depending on policy and procedure, you might rotate your chips on an annual, semi-annual, quarterly, or even monthly basis. While pulling a box of $500 chips forward for verification, you open it to find $1 chips. This loss, caused by employee theft, has compromised your casino for $50,000 some time between the last rotation and this one. With Cx3 Chip Verification Software, this theft would not have been averted; however, due to our Transaction Conflict validation logic, the stolen $50,000 could never be redeemed.
